Jill writes about women through ages, as do I--and the books in her trilogy are set almost exactly during my New York Saga: 1894, 1930s and 1960s. I am planning to purchase and read Jill's books, but meanwhile, meet her here and read about them:
About Jill
Jill is the award-winning author of a dual timeline trilogy about women searching for their place in the world connected by vintage finds. The Black Velvet Coat and The Silver Shoes are book club favorites. The third in the series, The Green Lace Corset, will be released October 13. Hall is an instructor at San Diego Writers, Ink as well as a seasoned presenter at readings, and community events. She loves visiting with book clubs and organizations and now with Zoom and other virtual platforms she’s able to do so anywhere in the world. In addition to writing, she fashions whimsical mosaics using found objects. On her popular blog Crealivity she writes about the art of living a creative lifestyle.
Warwick’s Bookstore in La Jolla will be hosting a virtual release celebration for The Green Lace Corset on Facebook Live October 24, 2020 at 4pm PDT. Click here for info.
Anne McFarland, a modern-day, thirty-something San Francisco artist in search of spiritual guidance, buys a corset in a Flagstaff resale boutique―a purchase that results in her having to make a decision that will change her life forever.
One hundred and thirty-five
years earlier, in 1885, naïve Sally Sue Sullivan, a young woman from the
Midwest, is kidnapped on a train by a handsome but dangerous bank robber. Held
prisoner on a homestead in Northern Arizona’s Wild West, Sally Sue discovers
her own spunk and grit as she plots her escape.
Ultimately, both Anne and Sally Sue face their
fears and find the strength to journey down their designated paths and learn
the true meaning of love and family . . . with a little push from the same
green lace corset.
Even though this is the last in a
trilogy, each of the novels standalone and can be read in any order. Artist
Anne McFarland’s story begins in The Black Velvet Coat and runs through
the other two novels, but the threads are only hinted at and not necessary to
enjoy the read. I often tell readers they may choose the historical era that
interests them the most; noir 1960s in The Black Velvet Coat, 1929-1930s
flappers in The Silver Shoes or 1885 Wild West in The Green Lace
Corset. If they start with my second or third book, and if they like Anne
and my writing style they may want to read the others as prequels.
