So, Adam, can you describe yourself for the readers?
I’m tall
and broad. I keep myself in good shape, but I’m not obsessive about it. My
hair’s dark, but I wear it short. Still, since I’ve just left the Army Medical
Corps, that won’t surprise you. I’m into most sports, and was the captain of
the American Football team in High school. I haven’t played for while though.
Tell us about your time in the Army. I hear you’ve
been nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Don’t go
thinking I’m some hero. I was in the wrong place when some good friends of mine
got pinned down by a sniper. He killed our military escort, shot a couple of my
fellow doctors when we’d gone to aid a local village, and cost a brilliant
surgeon his career. The sniper’s shot destroyed his hand. I couldn’t sit on my
ass and let them bleed out. Of course, I went to attend them, but I got mad.
I’m a healer, not a killer, but I used the dead kid’s rifle to shoot the sniper
and took out two of his accomplices. It’s not something I’m proud of, but it
kept my friends alive.
I’ve heard rumours about your recent inheritance.
Would you like to tell everyone where you stand?
Not
really, but I promised I’d answer your questions. I inherited a large amount
from my great aunt. I’m comfortably off, and I intend buying into Doc
McFaddon’s practice now I’ve left the army. Great Aunt Edith was always a
little strange. She didn’t care for my sister Abigail, and the way she treated
her granddaughter, Jazz, was shocking. Still, Abigail’s married her Marine, and
Jazz is wed to my best friend, the local Sheriff. My getting married isn’t on
the cards though. Well…not really. Okay, if I marry within
the next nine months and stay married for two years, I inherit the rest of my
great aunt’s estate. That’s about fifteen million dollars as well as Montgomery
Hall. I always planned to start a charity for former service men, but fifteen
million blows me away.
So have you picked out your bride yet?
I haven’t
dated since high school, but spent four years courting Mandy Devlin. Then she
cheated on me. I overreacted and made a scene at our senior prom, but my temper
got the better of me. The worst thing is Mandy’s just moved back to Westhorpe
Ridge. No matter how much I want to be with her, she’s not the sort of woman I
intend to marry. I need to be able to trust my wife, no matter what. Anyway,
turns out she linked up with some loser and he left her with a kid. The boy
seems a bit headstrong, but considering he’s only got Mandy, he seems to have
turned out okay.
